If you are missing the bright sun, talking to good-natured and friendly people, walking along the uncrowded ocean shore with white sand and – more importantly – the possibility to ride kind, tender waves, then Peniche in Portugal is definitely to be your choice. Fascinating nature, beauty of the Atlantic ocean that offers a great variety of surf spots for any level of your skill, ancient towns with their exciting history, delicious food and wine – that is Portugal!

Even though I am graded the lowest at my surfing classes, the time I spent at the ocean early in the morning when the fog embraces you with coolness or in the evening when you are sitting at the lineup and saying goodbye to the day – all these pleasant and happy moments left only the best memories of this trip! And I will always remember surfing at the Secret Spot: the “secret” path that leads to the spot, the best wave and hugging the board when you are coming back along the cliff – these moments are unforgettable!

And of course, this trip helped me make new friends and in their company the evenings were just flowing away over interesting conversations. The cycling trips and mini tours around Portugal were exciting and full of fun (it’s just enough to mention the dinner in a Portuguese restaurant that cost 2€ for four!)
I am very grateful to Stas and Surf Discovery for an excellent organization of the surfcamp and for the opportunity to go surfing in the Atlantic waves!
It was one of my best trips and I will definitely visit Portugal again!
